How we source

The Daily Marble is an aggregator. We do not assign reporters. We collect headlines, summaries, images, and links from outlets in our source list, store them, and show them with a link back to the original page.

What the pipeline does

• Reads public pages and feeds on a four-hour cycle (midnight, 4 a.m., 8 a.m., noon, 4 p.m., 8 p.m. Eastern).
• Keeps the source URL. You leave this site to read the full article.
• Labels a row News, Analysis, Opinion, Entertainment, or Commerce from the URL and section the desk already printed. That label is a filter, not a legal finding.
• Drops or demotes shopper pages, lottery, weather slugs, and wire copies we have marked so the same Gannett story does not count as six desks.

What we do not do

• We do not rewrite the story as our own reporting.
• We do not claim the sentiment number is true or false. It is tone of the headline and dek. Method: Sentiment & HeatMap.
• Inclusion on the source list is not an endorsement.
